WHISPERING THORNS ACCOMMODATION
A picturesque family owned guest farm situated in the heart of the north eastern part of Mpumalanga, only 18 kilometers north of Nelspruit and not far from the Kruger National Park. We offer our guests a unique setting in which they are able to feel completely at home. Our rustic design gives you that perfect “get away” feeling. The farm is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery in the Lowveld. Whispering Thorns Guest Farm offers a Guest House, self catering accommodation, wedding planner and a spectacular wedding venue. Our “pioneering spirit” is evident in the history and heritage of the farm, we offer an exquisite stay whilst being surrounded by the delightful backdrop of the panorama of the farm.
Combining an atmosphere of rustic charm, the family owned guest HOUSE offers guests a variety of accommodation for overnight guests attending Weddings, Conferences and Functions at our own Venue or at other Venues in the area. The spacious double storey homestead offers ten stylishly decorated double bedrooms. All rooms treat guests to luxurious bed linen, shower and pampering toiletries, satellite TV and a coffee/tea station. The various lounge areas and outside patio ensure a restful retreat after a busy day exploring the Lowveld.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
5 days and less before arrival. The full pre-payment amount will be forfeited.
5 – 10 days before arrival, 25% of total amount will be forfeited.

The Whispering Thorns Guest House comprises:
1 deluxe honeymoon suite with en suite bathroom
7 deluxe twin rooms with en suite bathrooms
2 deluxe twin rooms each with it’s own seperate private bathroom.
2 deluxe twin rooms in a cottage seperate from the guest house, with en suite bathrooms
(The guest house can accommodate a maximum of 24 adults and 4 children under 4 years) – parents to provide own bedding and matress for children.
The communal lounge, dining and kitchenette has stunning views of leeukop. it is tastefully decorated.
The lounge has a spacious veranda.
The meaning of
Whispering Thorns
The thorns of the Ziziphus mucrota, known as the
Buffalo thorn, “blinkbaar-wag-’n-bietjie” in Afrikaans
and “mphasamhala” in Tsonga, are spaced along
the length of every branch in pairs. One of the
pair points robustly outward and forward while the
other curves back and inward in the oppiste direction.
The Nguni African legend says the thorns tell us
something about ourselves - that we must look
ahead to the future... but we must never forget where
we have come from.
